Announcement: Year of the Youth Activities

Tuesday, March 02, 2021

At the annual meeting in October 2020, the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America declared 2021 the Year of the Youth, with the intent of augmenting ministry to children, teens, and young adults across the country. The Assembly is pleased to announce additional information concerning Year of the Youth activities.

The Assembly’s Committee for Liturgy is working on a special Prayer for the Youth, which will release soon.

The Assembly of Bishops will also be hosting a variety of exciting events and opportunities that will uplift all of us as we celebrate together the Year of the Youth, including a series of online gatherings and webinars; article and video submissions; a video series; and an increased social media presence. We pray all our planned activities will help our youth, youth workers, and parents witness to their faith as we celebrate their good works in Christ.

More Specifically, the events will include:

  • Townhalls for our youth and hierarchs. Our objectives are to provide opportunities for our youth and hierarchs 1) to better know each other, and 2) to dialogue with their hierarchs about their spiritual lives. Six Town Halls will be hosted virtually throughout the year, each in a different geographic region of the United States.
