The Feast of Pentecost

Friday, June 10, 2011

"When the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit."  - The Acts of the Apostles

"And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life; Who proceedeth from the Father; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spake by the Prophets." - The Symbol of Faith

On "this last and great saving day of Pentecost" we greet you - the Reverend Priests, the Deacons in Christ, the Monastics, and all pious and Christ-loving Orthodox Faithful - conveying our paternal love, blessings and prayerful best wishes for a very happy feast filled with divine grace and the gifts of the all-holy and good and life-giving Spirit.

Following our recent meetings in Chicago, IL (May 25th-27th) the thirteen Committees of our regional Assembly of Bishops have begun their work in earnest.  Their chairmen will soon be calling upon the many priests, deacons, monks, nuns, lay men and lay women who have been recommended to them as expert Consultants, so that they might join together with the bishops who are Members of the Committees in accomplishing the many important responsibilities and tasks assigned to them.  For information about our Assembly''s thirteen Committees, please see elsewhere on this web site.

May the All-holy Trinity - "consubstantial and co-eternal, undivided and unmingled," the mystery of which was shown forth on Pentecost - bless you and your families, granting you health, salvation and futherance in all good things.
