Integration of Faith	We all long for healing—and healing is inherently relational. It is through secure attachment, or communion, that we move away from fragmentation and toward integration of the self within the context of a loving other. At the heart of this transformation is the Cross, which gives meaning to the relational pain and trauma that might otherwise feel senseless or isolating. Our voluntary participation in the Cross of Christ becomes the developmental path through which we come to know our worth, our calling, and the redemptive purpose of our suffering—whatever our circumstances may be. Psychotherapy can support this journey by helping us notice the ways we avoid, resist, or even reject the cross uniquely entrusted to us. It invites us back to the path of loving surrender and self-denial—not as loss, but as the paradoxical path to freedom, healing, and union with God.
