OCN to host live and interactive Web TV Christmas Special on Dec. 9

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

For Immediate Release

OCN to host live and interactive Web TV Christmas Special on Dec. 9

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Nov. 28, 2007) - The Orthodox Christian Network, an agency of SCOBA, will be broadcasting a live and interactive Web TV Christmas Special: "Affirming our Faith. Proclaiming Orthodoxy to the World." This live, call-in program will stream on OCN's homepage, www.myocn.net, on Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST.

The Rev. Dr. Christopher T. Metropulos, the Executive Director of OCN, and Emmy Louvaris, OCN's Internet Program Director and long-time co-host of Come Receive the Light, the national Orthodox radio program, will host this ground-breaking Web TV gathering of Orthodox Christians from around the world. Special guests will be announced in the coming days.

Simply visit www.myocn.net on Dec. 9 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST to join listeners, supporters and special guests from around the world for an illuminating discussion of the Orthodox celebration of the Nativity and its meaning today. You'll be able to call in to make your own comments, meet the staff of OCN, hear from well-known Orthodox leaders and theologians, see the studios that produce Come Receive the Light, listen to Orthodox Christmas music, and discuss the exciting ways that OCN plans to expand its ability to proclaim the powerful relevance of our Lord's Incarnation in the coming year.

You'll also be able to call in your end-of-the-year donation to support OCN's ministry during this time of growth and expansion. A generous Orthodox philanthropist has stepped forward with a Challenge Grant, so any gift you give during the Web TV Christmas Special will be immediately DOUBLED!

There are several ways that you and your local Orthodox parish can participate:
On Dec. 9, you can call our studios toll free at 877-273-2348 to make your comments or offer a year-end, tax-deductible donation that will be immediately DOUBLED through our Challenge Grant.
You can also e-mail your comments or donation beforehand, as well as during the Web TV Christmas Special, to FrChris@receive.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
You can organize a gathering in your home or parish to watch the program and call in together. Several parishes are already putting together such an event. If you would like to do so as well, please call us at 877-273-2348.
And, of course, you can tune in on Dec. 9 with family and friends to experience a unique Christmas event. Don't miss out! Call 877-273-2348 or visit www.myocn.net for more information.
Orthodox Christian Network (OCN) is a pan-Orthodox media ministry and one of the official agencies of SCOBA, the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas. OCN uses modern media to raise awareness of the Orthodox Christian faith in the minds of the general population and produces media tools for local parishes designed to increase the effectiveness of their own media outreach. OCN also produces Come Receive The Light, a nationally syndicated Orthodox radio program, as well as two Internet-based, 24-hour Orthodox radio stations, The Ark and The Rudder.
