OCF Reacts to Shooting Tragedy at Northern Illinois University

Thursday at Northern Illinois University (NIU), a black clad gunman emerged from the stage of an auditorium classroom opening fire, killing six students and injuring 13 before turning the gun on himself, taking his own life. Four students remain in critical condition.

Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Awards $1.6 Million Grant

The special committee overseeing the Greek Fire Relief Fund of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America unanimously approved a $1,652,998 grant to International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) to further its current relief and recovery work for Greek farmers who lost livestock and pasturelands to last summer's wildfires.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship is proud to announce that a Real Break trip to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Constantinople, Turkey. Orthodox bishops speak about growth of media ministry in new Web TV program

The first hierarchal guest was His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America and Chairman of SCOBA. His Eminence spoke of the "real foundation" that OCN has laid in its 10-year effort to develop media outreach programs for the Orthodox Church on the radio and the Internet, and expressed his desire to see those efforts grow "exponentially" through "Share the Light" Sunday.

IOCC's Phase II Recovery for Greece

A pilot program aimed at providing long term sources of feed for animals while benefitting Greece's devastated environment has been initiated by International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). IOCC recently completed the distribution of nearly 20 metric tons of forage seed to more than 300 farmers in the wildfire-devastated region of the Peloponnese. More than 37,000 head of livestock will benefit from the forage seed designed specifically for animals living in hot dry climates.
