Ft. Lauderdale (March 28) – Orthodox Christian Network is proud to welcome two professional musicians as the advisory team for music selection on OCN’s 24 hour internet based radio outreach, The Ark.

Ron Moore and Jimmy Santis have both agreed to assist Emmy Louvaris, the director of The Ark for OCN, in selecting music for The Ark that honors Christ and His Church as well as encouraging other Orthodox musicians and artists to create music that keeps our young people connected to the Church in this modern world.

Ron Moore has produced 13 albums of his own and is a convert to the Orthodox Church since 1995. He has spent many years in the contemporary Christian music world and is very familiar with the industry. His contribution to The Ark has already been very important to help us maintain the quality of music and the discovery of Orthodox Christian musicians who are doing faith based music from an Orthodox perspective. Ron is a faithful member of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America.

Jimmy Santis is a life long Orthodox Christian, a singer/songwriter, who has done both secular and contemporary Christian music. Living in Astoria, NY, Jimmy’s latest Contemporary Christian Album – Living Waters – features his very popular song “In Jesus Name.” His contribution to The Ark will be invaluable as we build a place where Orthodox musicians and songwriters can share their God-given gifts with the rest of the Church and the World. Jimmy remains a part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.

By drawing on the diverse talents across the various jurisdictions of the Orthodox churches here in America, OCN hopes to further strengthen our unified witness of the Orthodox Christian faith here in “the land of the free, and the home of the brave.”

Fr. Chris Metropulos, founder and director of OCN, commented “With professional musicians like Ron and Jimmy, not to mention committed Orthodox Christians, we are confident that The Ark will become a genuine refuge for our young people to hear Christ honoring music that keeps them connected to the Church.”

OCN is a commissioned agency of SCOBA, the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas, and our Orthodox hierarchs have directed OCN to find effective ways to use modern media to raise awareness of our Orthodox faith in the minds of the general population and to be an “assistant” to local parish priests in keeping our faithful attached to the Church between worship services.
